Fiery Margarita - Adding Spice to the Classic

Looking to add some heat to your Margarita game? Look no further than the Fiery Margarita! This tantalising cocktail takes the classic Margarita to a whole new level with a spicy kick that will awaken your taste buds. Ready to spice things up? Let's dive into the recipe!

Ingredients:
- 1 lime wedge
- 2 jalapeno coins, seeds removed
- 2 ounces blanco tequila
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce agave syrup
- Garnish: salt rim
- Garnish: jalapeno coin

Steps:

1. Begin by preparing your glass. Rub the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim in salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2. In a shaker, add the jalapeno coins and gently muddle them to release their fiery flavours.

3. Next, add the blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave syrup to the shaker. Add ice, close the shaker, and give it a good shake until it's well-chilled.

4. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass, ensuring it pours over fresh ice.

5. For a finishing touch, garnish your Fiery Margarita with a jalapeno coin.

Fiery Margarita Variations:

- If you prefer an extra kick of spice, simply muddle an additional jalapeno coin or two in step 2. Adjust the spiciness according to your preference.

- For a Tommy's Margarita variation, which reduces the sugar content and emphasises the tequila, omit the orange liqueur from the recipe and solely use agave syrup.

Choosing the Best Tequila:

When it comes to selecting the perfect tequila for your Fiery Margarita, opt for a blanco tequila. Blanco tequilas are often unaged or aged for up to two months, offering crisp and citrusy notes that complement sour-style cocktails like the Margarita. Look for tequilas labelled as 100% agave, ensuring they are distilled solely from the fermented sugars of the blue Weber agave plant without any artificial sugars or additives.

Get ready to ignite your taste buds with the Fiery Margarita! Sip on this spicy twist to a classic cocktail and let the combination of heat, tang, and tequila transport you to Margarita paradise.
